  1. Why should I use your service when free services are available?

ASA offers services and client specific assistance that no free services can match. Free services provide you access to large databases of scholarships and generic advice concerning the writing of application essays. You are then left on your own to review and consider hundreds of scholarship options with no direction as to what opportunities are right for you, and no personal assistance with the writing of your scholarship essays. ASA provides assistance throughout the entire scholarship acquisition process. At ASA you receive personal feedback, professional editing, prepared schedules and a personal advisor ready to help in any way at any time.

  1. Can ASA guarantee me scholarship money?

No service, including ASA, can guarantee scholarships.  If any organization or individual makes this claim they are not to be trusted or believed.  The selection process for distribution of scholarships is solely controlled by the individual scholarship provider.  What ASA can do is present you with realistic, hand selected, opportunities along with editing, guidance, and assistance to help you realize your goal of academic financing.

  1. When should I become a client for best results? When is it too late?

ASA begins accepting clients every April for the following academic year. Typically, grade eleven students continue to follow their ASA schedule throughout their senior year with most scholarship submission deadlines coming in February and recipients being selected by April. ASA accepts clients from April through November unless our maximum number of clients is reached before then. The earlier you sign up with ASA, the more time you have to produce the highest quality responses to written requirements.

  1. Who is actually helping me, is it always the same person or the next available advisor?

Once accepted as an ASA client, you are assigned a personal scholarship advisor. Your advisor stays with you throughout the entire scholarship acquisition process. This way your advisor gets to know you and your strengths as a scholarship candidate. At ASA, we understand that the rapport and trust required to provide total assistance to our clients cannot be developed through a committee or prerecorded advice. One-on-one personal assistance is what is provided at ASA, anything else just isn’t enough.

  1. How many scholarships will I be applying for through your service?

Typically, ASA clients will complete between 8 and 12 scholarship applications. We have found that applying for more than 15 scholarships takes away from the quality of the essay responses and therefore lowers the client’s chances of being awarded financing. ASA selects only scholarship opportunities that are realistic possibilities for our clients. It is not how many opportunities you try for but rather how well you can respond to the requirements of realistic possibilities.

  1. Does the ASA scope include scholarships for specific college/universities that I might have a preference for?

The ASA scope does not include institution specific scholarships. These scholarship opportunities should be investigated by students with assistance from the institutions enrolment office. The scholarships and grants that ASA works with are provided by private and governmental entities not associated with any specific institution.

  1. Is ASA only a service for recent high school graduates or can students already attending university become ASA clients?

While many scholarship providers stipulate graduating seniors as recipients, a vast number of providers encourage applicants of any age. In some circumstances, already being enrolled in university studies is a decided advantage.

  1. Is ASA only a service for students from the United States or can international students benefit from your service?

ASA manages an entire database of scholarship opportunities geared directly towards international students. These scholarship opportunities generally require additional forms and information from your local governments. There are a large number of opportunities for international students and more are added every day.
